Big Ten Network, still Comcast is yet
to settle for a deal with Big Ten and fans are eager that Comcast carries Big Ten in their line-up.

DIRECT TV, the leading satellite TV provider in the industry is planning to launch its new HD channels starting from this month. Its learnt that they will end up with 100 new HD channels by the year end. Also DIRECT TV is planning to bring
only HD channels package when it expansion begins next week. This package will have only high definition services and not simulcasts of standard-definition networks.

DIRECT TV today announced that the launch of new high-definition channels will start from September 19, 2007. The expansion will go on till it reached 100 HD channels. DIRECT TV also added that the new HD channel expansion will not cover International programming and this will be done on later date. Most of the HD channels will have programming of 24/7 and some programs delivered by the provider may be in standard definition.

DIRECT TV, undisputed leader in the satellite TV industry joins with AFL Telecommunications and DSI Technologies to provide DIRECT TV programming to newly developing $1.5 billion waterfront in Brunswick, Georgia. DIRECT TV will use 'Multi-Family Housing version 3' technology that will enable DIRECT TV to deliver the services using existing in build distribution wiring.

Ericsson groups Tandberg Television announced that they signed an agreement with DIRECT TV to provide WatchPoint Workflow System, which will offer programmers and service providers visibility and control in creating and executing their digital media strategies. DIRECT TV will use this technology for its On Demand service to be launched during Next quarter.

DIRECT TV is preparing for its second season of the widely popular original series 'Project MyWorld' and the program will be aired on high-definition on October 1st at 6pm ET on channel The 101. The second series will be from New Zealand and Australia and DIRECT TV had selected Bridgetta Tomarchio as a adventure girl and she would join with Shaina and Rene for season two. A special pre season program was aired yesterday on channel The 101.

Now many small operators who carry the Network finds a good business as Comcast are yet to settle for an agreement with Big Ten. Many football fans missed the match between Michigan State University and Bowling Green State University. The fans swiched to the providers who carried the network or visited friend or family who has a Big Ten Network cable or Satellite to watch the match.

Many experts hope that this week will be a huge one for DIRECT TV as there are rumors that DIRECT TV will begin its high-definition expansion by Saturday or Sunday. DIRECT TV has already announced that they will roll out 30 new HD channels this month and about 20 by October. A party is organised to start the HD expansion by 16th of this month.

DIRECT TV announced that it had become member of HomePlug Powerline Alliance, a recognised body world wide for powerline communications. As a member of the alliance DIRECT TV uses HomePlug integrated circuit solutions enabling customers to connect broadband services and home computers with their DIRECTV Plus HD DVRs to enjoy photos and music content on their TVs.
