DIRECTV will have TBS HD from September

TBS, American cable TV owned by Time Warner said that they would launch high definition channel from 1st of Septemeber. DIRECTV will carry TDS on high definition from fourth quarter of this year.

“With the launch of TBS in HD, we will bring an outstanding line-up of comedy programming to our viewers in a video format that is on the fast track to becoming the industry and consumer standard,” said Steve Koonin, president of Turner Entertainment Networks. “We are extremely proud to bring TBS to the HD world.”

The HD lineup of TDS would be several original series like My Boys and The Bill Engvall Show, which are already shot in HD. TDS has rights to to broadcast early round games of Major League Baseball's playoff series in October.
