DIRECTV enters agreement with clearware

DIRECTV entered agreement with Clearware corporation to offer distribution of high-speed Internet services. This will enable DIRECT TV to offer Clearware's high-speed Internet service to their customers and inturn Clearware will be able to offer video services to their customers. This will enable DIRECTV to offer high-speed Internet, video and voice in all current and future Clearwire markets.

Clearware which operates in 39 US markets and have about a Lakh subscribers will be capable in expanding its customer base by signing the agreement with DIRECT TV. "By expanding the reach of our services through DIRECTV, and by incorporating direct-to-home satellite video services in our own distribution channels, we believe we have an opportunity to significantly expand our business opportunity," Perry Satterlee, Clearwire president and chief operations officer, said in a statement.

DIRECT TV will also benefit with the deal as DIRECTV will be able to compete more directly with cable operators
and telephone companies that are offering high-speed Internet access plus TV service."Being able to offer services
on the Clearwire network will give our customers another high-quality option to subscribe to broadband services
with DirecTV's video offerings," Bruce Churchill, president of new enterprises at DirecT TV, said in a statement.
